One of my greatest client success stories is when I first started, I saw an ad from someone looking to hire a bookkeeper. This gentleman was looking to hire someone for $10/hr to update his QuickBooks. I responded and told him who I was and told him of my experience. And I simply asked "Would you consider coming on board with me?" He agreed to hire me, and I have been his bookkeeper ever since!
Because of this, he later introduced another business owner to me. This person had a very successful company and to date, they are both still with me.
East Bound and Down:
Another client was the owner of a trucking company. I was referred to him, because of his tax filing and tax structure. He had made over $1M in revenue, but his books showed he netted less than $2K. He didn’t know where all his money went. Before he even signed up as a client, and just by talking about his business, I found out that he had 14 trucks that were on his P&L instead of the balance sheet! We found him over $100K in additional income.
The client was very happy that I was able to solve his tax issues and that I increased his profitability.
If the Shoe Fits:
I assisted a client who had not done a tax return in three years. He had what we call a "Shoebox" of receipts and paperwork. Because we were able to get each year caught up, and taxes filed, his penalties and interest stopped. He is still my client today.
